WELCOME TO MY PRACTICE

There are two main strands to my private practice; first and foremost, I am a plastic and reconstructive surgeon and I mainly perform breast reconstructive procedures at the world-renowned Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea. I also offer aesthetic surgery procedures for the breast and body.

I strongly believe that both facets of my practice serve to inform and enhance each other. I have an exceptional success rate in all breast reconstructive procedures and the high level of surgical expertise and technical skill that they require are deployed in the aesthetic breast and body reshaping procedures I perform. Conversely, reconstructive procedures are always carried out with an aesthetic eye to produce the very best results possible for my patients.

Mr Kelvin Ramsey is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. He is a trained Microsurgeon who regularly performs complex reconstructions for a wide range of tumour types including skin, sarcoma, breast and head/neck cancer. In particular, he specialises in breast reconstruction, abdominal/perineal reconstruction and supermicrosurgery for lymphoedema

Having had the upset of being diagnosed with breast cancer and having opted to have a skin and nipple sparing double mastectomy, I was very keen to ensure that the cosmetic result that would be achieved when replacing the expander implants for permanent ones was as good as humanly possible. I am a very fussy individual and after much research, I narrowed down my search to three top plastic surgeons. Mr Ramsey was the last of the surgeons I saw. His approach was very different to the others: he did not seem to think that I had ‘to make do’ with the result I had because I’d had a double mastectomy.

I had two consultations, and he was incredibly thorough, patient and kind. He explained everything in great detail and never made me feel that I was asking too many questions (I always do!). He was careful to manage my expectations. Frankly, there was no need. The result is near perfection, and this is not a qualified statement. Even if I had elected to have breast surgery for aesthetic rather than medical reasons, I would be completely delighted with the result. Mr Ramsey is a genius!
